3/ Method 5660 shall be used, except that the exposure of the specimen and standard sample shall be for 20 Standard Fading Hours. Any specimen showing discoloration less than or equal to that of the standard sample shall be rated “pass”. Any specimen showing discoloration greater than that of the standard sample shall be rated “fail”. When no standard sample is available the discoloration of the specimen shall be considered satisfactory if it is not worse than the rating of “fair” in the scale indicated Method 5660.
4/ One determination shall be made from each sample unit and the results reported as “pass” or “fail”.
5/ The specimen must be dried after each of the 3 laundering cycles.
6/ Method 4110 shall be followed except for the following:
a. The original length shall be 2 inches in lieu of 10 inches in the test procedure.
b. The jaw distance shall be set at 2 inches apart in lieu of 10 inches.
c. Calculation of results shall be based on a 2 inch length in lieu of 10 inches.
Preservation, Packing, and Marking. The preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order
OR:
Packaging.
Overseas.
Packaging. Each towel shall be folded.
Packing. Sixty towels shall be packed in a fiberboard box conforming to style RSC-L, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. The box shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636.
