shall have a 1/2 inch minimum chain extending beyond each end. Thread breaks (all stitch types) shall be secured by stitching back of the break not less than 1 inch. Skipped stitches or thread breaks (chain stitch) may be repaired by using the lockstitch. Seam allowances shall be maintained with seams properly sewn so that no raw edges, runoffs, twists, pleats, puckers, or open seams will result. All stitching shall be regular and even. Stitching shall not be looser resulting in a loose seam, or tight, resulting in broken stitches when tension is applied.
When required by state law, each pillow shall have a label attached to conform with the legal requirements of the state in which it is manufactured. When allowed under state law, the information required under state regulations may be combined in the identification label.
The pillow shall have a combination identification and size label. The contents and format shall be as follows:

The pillow shall also have an instruction label for care instructions. The content shall be as follows:
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Launder and dry by Formula G of TM 10-354 (Army). Tumble dry at 1500 to 180°F.
The labels shall be spunbonded nonwoven material made from 4.0 denier (.44 Tex), continuous filament white polyester fiber and shall be impregnated and coated with a permanent pigmented acrylic composition. The color of the finished labels shall be bleached white. Printing shall be Gothic type. As an alternate, the identification, size, and instruction labels may be combined into one combination label.
The finished pillow shall have no holes, cuts, tears, or any mends. The pillow shall be free of lump formation and shall have no offensive or objectionable odor.
